The Medical Council of India has approved the intake of 150 students per year in UG course, (MBBS) at Karpagam Faculty of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu vide Renewal of Permission for 2013 – 2014 under Section 10(A) Letter No. MCI – 34 (41)/2013 – medical/ 4231 dated 25.04.2013 of Medical Council of India, New Delhi.

The Karpagam Medical College Hospital has established a blood bank, which has been approved by the Director of Drugs Control, Tamil Nadu and the Director General of Drugs Control (Central), New Delhi.
The blood collected from healthy and eligible donors of both sexes, after thorough testing, is stored in the blood bank for use in any emergency cases like patients undergoing surgeries or for those injured in road accidents needing transfusion of blood.
Blood components like fresh frozen plasma, concentrated RBCs, platelet rich concentrate, cryoprecipitate and stored plasma are available with the Karpagam Hospital.

Karpagam Medical College Hospital has a 24 Hours Ambulance Service with 24 hours trauma care and accident relief departments to serve patients at all times. The hospital has dedicated staff manning the Ambulance and Emergency department round the clock, supported by Ambulances with state-of-the-art facilities.
The KFMS & R Hospital is provided with a Central Clinical laboratory with Pathology, Haematology, Microbiology and Clinical Biochemistry sections having all hi-tech equipments to cater the laboratory diagnostic requirements of the various clinical departments and their patients.
The Hospital is having 5 state-of-the-art major operation theatres and 3 minor operation theatres with necessary high end anesthetic and vital signs monitoring equipments , such as C-Arm,Multi para monitors with Capnograph, Respiratory Gas Monitors with Pulse oximeter, Defibrillators, Ventilators , Infusion and Syringe pumps. All the operation theatres are provided with Central Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide and suction facility.
Intensive care units in Cardiology, Medicine, Neonatology, Paediatrics and Surgery with 5 BEDS each is available to treat needy patients. Major equipments for providing life saving and monitoring facilities such as multi para monitors, Ventilators, Arterial Blood Gas Monitors, Pulse Oximeters, Na, K Analyzer, Spirometer, UGI endoscope, Radiant Warmer s, Phototherapy units and Incubators are available in all Intensive Care Units.

NRI quota seats are filled through neet counselling conducted by tamilnadu medical council.Total 15% of seats are filled through NRI quota.Govt quota seats allotted to Chettinad medical college would be around 20 out 150 seats.
Candidate should studied in Abroad countries (or) the parents should hold any Foreign citizenship.
Fess structure for NRI quota seats will be around 22.5 lakhs excluding Hostel and accomdation.
